What is R32 refrigerant, and is it safe?

R32 is the refrigerant gas used in current Daikin inverter ACs — it has a significantly lower global warming potential than older R22 gas and is widely used across the industry. It is mildly flammable (classified A2L), which is why installation should always be done by a trained technician.
📐 Calculated estimate Based on real BEE-certified data — see the exact numbers below.

R32 became the standard refrigerant across most AC brands as the industry moved away from R22 for environmental reasons. It's more energy-efficient per unit of refrigerant than R22, which is part of why modern inverter ACs achieve higher ISEER ratings than older models.
