The tonnage calculator uses a simplified heat-load model structured the way Indian HVAC engineers approach a cooling load estimate: envelope gain + solar/glass gain + occupancy gain + equipment gain + infiltration/ventilation gain, scaled by climate zone, then converted to Tons of Refrigeration (1 TR = 12,000 BTU/hr — a physical constant, not an approximation). This is deliberately not presented as a substitute for a certified Manual-J / CLTD-CLF load calculation, which needs a full site survey — it's a fast, transparent, honest estimate calibrated to match this platform's own published sizing guidance, with every contributing factor visible in the breakdown above.
