Can a 1.5 Ton inverter AC cool like a 2 Ton AC?

Partially — inverter ACs can temporarily boost above their rated capacity. A real 1.5 Ton Daikin model rated at 5.00 kW can modulate up to about 6.00 kW during power-chill mode, but a genuine 2 Ton unit is still rated higher at 7.03 kW. It closes some of the gap, not all of it.

This modulation headroom is exactly why inverter ACs feel more responsive than their tonnage label alone suggests — the compressor can temporarily run harder than its rated output for faster initial cooldown, then settle back to a lower, efficient level. It's a real, useful capability, but it doesn't substitute for correct sizing on a room that consistently needs more capacity than the unit is rated for.
